Yoshiki And Ibrahim Maalouf To Perform At Hegra Candlelit Classics This November
AlUla Moments is set to enchant audiences once again with the return of Hegra Candlelit Classics, an unforgettable musical experience taking place under the stars at Hegra, Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site. Over two magical evenings on 20th and 21st November 2025, guests will be seated among the awe-inspiring Nabataean tombs, surrounded by the soft glow of thousands of candles—creating a setting unlike anywhere else in the world.
On 20th November, the stage welcomes an extraordinary debut for Saudi Arabia: YOSHIKI, the legendary Japanese composer, pianist, drummer, and leader of X Japan. Known for fusing classical elegance with rock intensity, YOSHIKI’s performances—whether at London’s Royal Albert Hall or New York’s Carnegie Hall—are celebrated for their emotional depth and electrifying energy. His appearance at Hegra promises to be nothing short of spellbinding.
In 2025, Time Magazine named YOSHIKI one of the “100 most influential people in the world” in its TIME100 issue, honoring his cross-genre artistry and cultural impact. With over 50 million records sold worldwide, he is recognised as one of Asia’s most influential artists and a global rock icon. He is also the first and only Japanese artist to be honored with a hand and footprint ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood since the tradition began nearly 100 years ago.
On the same night, audiences will also witness the brilliance of Grammy-nominated trumpeter IBRAHIM MAALOUF – one of the most influential and genre-defying musicians of his generation – performing at Hegra Candlelit Classics as part of his Kalthoum 2025 Tour. With over one million albums sold worldwide and renowned for his masterful fusion of jazz, classical, and Arabic influences, MAALOUF has captivated audiences on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including the iconic Royal Albert Hall in London, as well as headlining the Montreux Jazz Festival, the North Sea Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, Tokyo Jazz Festival, and the Nice Jazz Festival.
Hegra Candlelit Classics forms part of the Ancient Kingdoms Festival, running from 20th November to 6th December 2025. This annual celebration brings to life the remarkable legacies of the ancient civilisations that once flourished in AlUla—spanning the kingdoms of Dadan, Lihyan, and the Nabataeans. Visitors can expect a rich programme of cultural performances, immersive archaeological tours, and rare encounters with artefacts that shaped the history of the region.
With every note, flicker of candlelight, and whisper of desert wind, Hegra Candlelit Classics promises an experience that stirs the soul and lingers in the heart.
