International Code Council To Spotlight Practical Application Of Saudi Building Code At Big 5 Construct Saudi 2026

The International Code Council (ICC) is set to participate as an exhibitor at Big 5 Construct Saudi 2026, taking place from August 30 to September 2, 2026, at the Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Center.

As Saudi Arabia’s construction sector continues to expand in scale and complexity, the effective application of building codes, standards and regulations remains central to delivering safe, resilient and compliant buildings and infrastructure. Through its participation at Big 5 Construct Saudi, ICC will facilitate conversations designed to help industry professionals better understand the regulatory landscape and navigate the practical requirements of the Saudi Building Code (SBC).

As part of its participation, ICC will bring together industry experts for a dedicated three-part program focused on the future of code compliance, key Saudi Building Code requirements and the practical application of codes across the Kingdom.

The program, taking place on August 31 at the Big 5 Talks Theatre in Hall 1, will open with a keynote by Dr. Fahad Saud Allahaim, Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Residential Building Code at the Saudi Building Code National Committee and Assistant Professor at King Saud University, examining the role of the Saudi Building Code in advancing safety, quality and project outcomes across the Kingdom.

This will be followed by the ‘Navigating the Saudi Building Code: Key Requirements and Compliance Pathways’ workshop, led by Tom Wood, Regional Director at Vortex Fire, and Kareem Morsi, Senior Fire Engineer at Vortex Fire, offering practical insight into the structure of the SBC, key requirements of SBC 201 and navigating compliance pathways.

The program will conclude with ‘Applying the Saudi Building Code: Q&A,’ moderated by Mohamed Amer, Managing Director – MENA, International Code Council, alongside Dr. Fahad Saud Allahaim and Kareem Morsi. The interactive session will give attendees the opportunity to raise questions, explore project-specific challenges and gain expert perspectives on applying SBC requirements in practice.
