The 56th Annual General Meeting of the Arab Air Carriers’ Organization, hosted by Saudia for over two days, has concluded its proceedings. The agenda encompassed various topics aimed at supporting and advancing initiatives and distinctive projects to enhance the aviation sector within the region. The organization also signed two agreements with SITA, a specialized company in aviation information technology. Additionally, Saudia has arranged an exclusive tour to AlUla Province for all meeting attendees.
Following the conclusion of the meeting’s agenda, which included a series of sessions and meetings, a press conference was held to address media inquiries. The distinguished presence included His Excellency Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar, the Director General of Saudia Group, President of the Annual General Meeting, and Chairman of the Executive Committee of AACO, alongside Abdul Wahab Teffaha, the Secretary General of AACO.
The meeting resulted in several significant outcomes, encouraging all members to activate sustainability initiatives and emphasizing the importance of formally registering these initiatives with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Furthermore, the meeting supported digital transformation at all stages of guests’ travel, from the initial travel planning phases until arriving at the final destination. Therefore, continuous development of digital services within the operational framework was considered necessary to optimize the seamless flow of movement at airport facilities.
During the meeting proceedings, the Arab Air Carriers’ Organization formalized the signing of two agreements with SITA. The first agreement aims to provide premium digital solutions to enhance guests’ travel procedures. The second agreement focuses on contributing to achieving the environmental objectives of member airlines. This included initiatives to foster transparency and trust between airlines and guests by providing accurate information regarding the environmental impact of their travels.
Saudia invested substantially in hosting this event, which was attended by officials from Arab member airlines, international aviation sector organizations, manufacturing companies, and international partners and sponsors. As an integral part of the event, a trip to AlUla Province was arranged, attended by His Excellency Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar and several dignitaries.
The objective behind this tour aligns with Saudia’s commitment to support tourism efforts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and promote the historical and cultural heritage of AlUla Province. This mission is further reinforced through partnerships established with the Royal Commission for AlUla Province (RCU) and the Ministry of Tourism.
