“Almarai”: KSA Sustainability Champions initiative… a Promising Path for Comprehensive Development and Sustainable Future
Mr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Bader, the CEO of Almarai, emphasized the importance of the KSA Sustainability Champions Program initiative in fostering the growth of more companies in the Kingdom. He highlighted it as an excellent model for collaboration between the public and private sectors to achieve comprehensive economic development and build a sustainable future at the national level.
This came as a comment on the initiative launched by the Ministry of Economy and Planning on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, held in Riyadh under the theme “International Cooperation, Growth, and Energy for Development”.
The initiative, attended by esteemed ministers and officials from relevant government bodies, included commitments from leaders of 19 leading companies in the Kingdom, including “Almarai,” to enhance sustainability in their operations. Sustainable Champions pledged to develop sustainability practices for at least three other companies, to create a multiplied economic impact on the Kingdom’s sustainable development journey.
Abdullah Al-Bader pointed out Almarai’s commitment to actively contribute to the initiative’s implementation, in collaboration with partners from both the public and private sectors, driven by its national and social responsibilities. Almarai aims to embed sustainability principles across its operations and transfer its expertise to other Saudi companies.
It’s worth mentioning that Almarai launched its sustainability strategic plan “Doing Better Every Day” for 2019-2025. Moreover, in 2023, Almarai won the Best Poultry Company in Reducing Carbon Emissions in the poultry sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
