Cooking Up A Winning Formula On F1® Weekend At The ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX
The 2017 FORMULA 1 ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX doesn’t run on high-octane petrol alone – the biggest race weekend of the year requires a staggering amount of food to keep everything on track.
With around 60,000 fans from across the globe – Yas Marina Circuit’s 270 chefs are expected to cook 145,000 individual meals using 7,000 tonnes of rice, 6,500 tonnes of noodles, and 9,000 tonnes of fries over the four-day race weekend.
All this requires around 250 hours of prep and 100 hours of cleaning, putting the logistics involved in the catering efforts almost on par with the race itself.
Al Tareq Al Ameri, CEO of Yas Marina Circuit, said: “Making sure that everyone at Yas Marina Circuit has a wide variety of delicious food and drink options is one of the biggest and most important challenges of the whole race weekend.
