Deloitte to open new regional headquarters at KAFD, Riyadh
Deloitte, the largest professional services firm in the world, has announced its plans to strengthen its presence in Saudi Arabia and set up its regional headquarters at King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) in Riyadh.
Deloitte’s presence in the Saudi market extends to over half a century of leveraging its global capabilities and wide range of expertise to serve the Saudi public and private sectors. The professional services giant is at the forefront of the Kingdom’s socioeconomic transformation, driving the success of key giga projects in the nation and supporting the objectives of Vision 2030.
The company’s new offices occupy a state-of-the-art tower designed by the Copenhagen-based architecture studio, Henning Larsen Architects. Inspired by the formation of crystals, the LEED certified building appears as a cluster of gems and is home to a residential block, office block and multi-purpose podium, overlooking the Wadi and inviting pedestrian flows around and through the buildings. The gem formations help create multiple layers of shade between, and alongside, the iconic structure.
Remarking on Deloitte’s move, Gautam Sashittal, Chief Executive Officer of KAFD DMC, said: Amidst the rapidly evolving global landscape, we are witnessing a transformative shift in the business and financial sectors. With that in mind, we are delighted to welcome Deloitte to KAFD. Providing an ecosystem for business and financial growth, KAFD also supports its tenants through its high-quality infrastructure, security, and accessibility that makes the district stand out across the region. Deloitte has taken over a beautiful and unique landmark building that was designed and built with sustainability and energy efficiency in mind.
Riyadh is a major cosmopolitan city with an exceptional quality of life, playing a central role globally in the worlds of business, entertainment and tourism. We aim to continue to be key contributors to Saudi Arabia’s transformational journey towards achieving the ambitions outlined by Vision 2030,” said Deloitte Middle East CEO Mutasem Dajani.
The major transformational projects taking place in Saudi Arabia under this vision and the country’s unrivalled economic growth are making Riyadh a destination of choice for top talent from across the region and the world. Saudi Arabia already hosts the largest share of Deloitte’s regional workforce, and we expect the number of Deloitte professionals living in the Kingdom, both nationals and expatriates, to continue to significantly grow year on year, added Dajani.
A key driver of Riyadh’s economic ambitions, KAFD is the largest Platinum LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified mixed-use business district in the world which is owned and managed by the King Abdullah Financial District Development and Management Company (KAFD DMC). Set in the heart of the Saudi capital Riyadh, KAFD is home to 1.6 million square meters of state-of-the-art office spaces, world-class venues, and iconic luxury residences, designed to transform the way urban communities live, work, and play.
