Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs highlighted Almarai’s efforts in supporting food security in line with Vision 2030
Almarai’s Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs, Faisal Alfahadi, participated in a panel discussion titled “The Role of Food Industries in Achieving Food Security” at the Al-Kharj Industrial Exhibition and Forum, organized by the Al-Kharj Chamber under the patronage of HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Riyadh Region.
During the session, Alfahadi highlighted the key elements of Almarai’s Saudi strategy to support food security, aligning with the targets of Vision 2030. He stated, “The private sector’s responsibility is to contribute to achieving both quantitative and qualitative food security by providing high-nutritional-value products that meet consumer needs.”
He added that enhancing food security within this framework is the concept Almarai follows, focusing on increasing production and investing in improving production capabilities, manufacturing facilities, and supply chains with an emphasis on sustainability.
Alfahadi pointed out that Almarai effectively contributes to expanding its growing role in achieving food security according to Vision 2030. The company is strategically expanding in poultry, food services, bakeries, red meat, and seafood. He highlighted Almarai’s investment of approximately 7 billion riyals to establish a new factory and farms to expand poultry production by over 150 million birds annually, equivalent to 130,000 tons of poultry products yearly. This expansion aims to raise the company’s poultry production to 450 million chickens annually by 2026.
