FCSA, NCEMA Sign MoU

The Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority, FSCA, and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, NCEMA, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, which aims to promote joint cooperation and action in researching information, statistics and studies.

The MoU will also cover drafting effective plans and policies and help decision-makers to implement development policies and creating goals and plans related to emergencies, crises and disasters and ways of addressing them, along with improving the readiness of various national authorities.

Abdullah Nasser Lootah, Director-General of the FCSA, and Dr. Jamal Mohammed Al Hosny, Director-General of the NCEMA, signed the MoU in the presence of leaders and employees from both authorities.

Lootah highlighted the FSCA’s desire to promote joint cooperation with its partner authorities, especially from the government sector, as part of a unified government strategy to achieve the directives and goals of the wise leadership to make the UAE among the best countries in the world by 2021.

Dr. Al Hosny highlighted the importance of the MoU, which will serve the two authorities and aims to promote cooperation and provide information, through the formation of a technical team that will study global indicators related to managing change, readiness, flexibility and countering risks.

The MoU stipulates the promotion of cooperation between the two authorities, the exchange of information with partners from international government and private sector entities, to provide quality information in new and innovative ways. Both parties also agreed to form a technical team that will monitor mutual issues and future projects, and coordinate on a regular basis to provide mutual support. They will also implement and discuss opportunities for cooperation, monitor and improve the UAE’s performance in international reports, exchange expertise, and provide specialist consultations related to the work of both authorities.
