Flyadeal Announces Second Gateway In Dubai
flyadeal, one of the youngest and fastest growing low-cost airlines in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Middle East, has announced a second gateway to Dubai with the launch of scheduled flights between Riyadh and Dubai World Central (DWC), effective 20 June 2024.
Introductory one-way fares start at SAR199 with flyadeal operating four flights a week on the route with plans to increase to daily. flyadeal currently operates up to six daily round-trip flights from the Saudi capital to Dubai International Airport (DXB), the city’s main gateway.
The addition of Dubai World Central, also known as Al Maktoum International Airport, provides customers with greater choice given its easy access to the southern part of the largest city in the United Arab Emirates. flyadeal’s route announcement comes just days after Dubai World Central was earmarked for a multi-billion dollar expansion over the next 10 years to become the city’s sole airport hub.
Steven Greenway, flyadeal Chief Executive Officer, said: “Dubai World Central is a welcome addition to flyadeal’s current operations serving Dubai International Airport. Our second Dubai gateway takes frequency across both airports up to seven a day, a reflection of how flyadeal’s Riyadh – Dubai services have grown in popularity to become our busiest international route since we launched the flights in 2021.
“Our expansion in the UAE is also a recognition of how Dubai has grown into a dynamic regional and international metropolis of commerce and lifestyle living over the years with the city continuing to grow in all directions. As demand rises for business and leisure travel beween the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Dubai, we look forward to increasing capacity further in the coming months giving travellers even more options.”
Located just 30 minutes drive from Dubai’s southern affluent waterfront residential area of Dubai Marina and close to the region’s largest port of Jebel Ali, Dubai World Central is seen as an attractive and viable travel option to Dubai International.
flyadeal currently serves almost 30 destinations in Saudi Arabia, Middle East, Europe and North Africa, a number that will increase three-fold by 2030. The airline operates a single all-Economy Class cabin of 186 seats in a 3 – 3 configuration across its fleet of 32 Airbus A320 narrowbody aircraft.
