flynas, the Saudi air carrier and the leading low-cost airline in the world and Middle East, announced the beginning of the “Future Pilots” program exams to accept 100 Co-pilot today March 8, as flynas opened the program for a new batch of applicants for the current year 2024, intending to raise the localization rate of the Captain Pilot position after the company has successfully made the Co-pilot position 100% filled by Saudis since 2019.
flynas has required the applicants to pass the English language proficiency test, have a minimum total flight time of 240 hours (215 hours for Single Engine and 25 hours for Multi Engine), hold GACA or ICAO equivalent Multi-Engine Land CPL/IR pilot certificate, and have a valid GACA first-class medical certificate.
Since its establishment in 2007, flynas has committed itself to launching the Future Pilots program as a strategic step that affirms the Saudi national carrier’s dependence on ambitious Saudi youth to create a new generation of sons and daughters of the nation qualified to work as pilots. The program is characterized by a combination of theoretical and practical study as well as actual training to fly aircraft. After finishing the training program, the graduate will be able to work as a co-pilot for flynas.
With about 300 co-pilots who have graduated so far, the Future Pilots program contributed to localizing the co-pilot position in flynas by 100%, making it the first program of its kind in the Middle East to achieve its localization goals. The program aims at increasing the number of graduates within the coming years.
