Flynas Celebrates Its First Direct Flight Between Jeddah And Almaty In Partnership With The Air Connectivity Program
flynas, the national air carrier and the leading low-cost airline in the world and the Middle East, celebrated the launch of direct flights between Jeddah and Almaty, the largest city in Kazakhstan.
The new route is the result of flynas’ partnership with the Saudi Air Connectivity Program (ACP) and the airline’s growth and expansion plan initiated early last year under the slogan “We Connect the World to the Kingdom”.
This growth aligns with the National Aviation Strategy’s goals of accommodating 330 million passengers and attracting 100 million tourists by 2030. This moves the Kingdom towards its aim of establishing itself as a global travel and tourism hub with more than 250 destinations connected by 2030. Additionally, it furthers the goals of the Pilgrims Experience Program, aimed at simplifying access to the Two Holy Mosques.
The inaugural ceremony took place on Thursday, November 2, at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and was attended by representatives from flynas and the ACP. The maiden flight received a ceremonial welcome upon arrival at Almaty International Airport in the presence of The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Kazakhstan, HE Faisal Al-Kahtani.
flynas will operate three weekly direct flights between the two countries on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
On Monday, October 30, flynas hosted a separate event in Almaty, which was attended by prominent travel agents in Kazakhstan.
flynas connects more than 70 domestic and international destinations, with more than 1,500 weekly flights, flying over 60 million passengers since its launch in 2007. The carrier’s growth plan aims to reach 165 domestic and international destinations by 2030, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
About the Air Connectivity Program
The Saudi Air Connectivity Program (ACP) was established in 2021 to contribute to tourism growth in Saudi Arabia by enhancing air connectivity and developing existing and prospective air routes, connecting Saudi Arabia to new destinations. ACP works at the intersection of tourism and aviation by bridging the stakeholder ecosystem to enable the National Tourism Strategy’s vision and establish Saudi Arabia as a global leader in tourism air connectivity.
