flynas is the first Saudi carrier to launch 35 weekly flights to Iraq after a 27-year hiatus
flynas, the national carrier, announced the start of its scheduled flights starting Friday 27 October between Riyadh and Baghdad, after celebrating on October 18 last week the first flight between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Iraq after 27 years of interruption, where flights will continue to increase successively until reaching 35 flights per week.
These flights will be from the main cities of Saudi Arabia, namely Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam to the main cities of Iraq, namely Baghdad, Erbil and Najaf, where there will be 14 weekly flights from Dammam to Najaf, 7 weekly flights from Jeddah to Baghdad, 7 weekly flights from Jeddah to Erbil, and 7 weekly flights between Jeddah and Najaf passing through Medina.
In a statement to Bandar Al Muhanna, Group Chief Executive Officer, flynas, on the launch of 35 scheduled flights between the two countries: “We at flynas are proud to be the first Saudi airline to arrive with flights to Iraqi territory after a break of 27 years, and we hope that our flights for our guests traveling between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Iraq will be an option that achieves what they want and facilitates their access to their destinations with ease and comfort. We have made significant progress in coordinating the cooperation agreement with Iraqi partners in the aviation industry to provide integrated services between destinations in Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Iraq.”
These flights are considered a qualitative leap in relations and air transport between the two brotherly peoples, as they will reach Saudi citizens to various Iraqi cities, and facilitate the arrival of Iraqi citizens to their destinations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
