International Women Photographers Award – Edition 2018 Announces The Laureate And 10 Finalists

The International Women Photographers Association (IWPA) is pleased to announce the 11 finalists, including one laureate, for the IWPA Award 2018. The finalists have been selected from 60 short-listed candidates out of a total of more than 600 women photographers from 82 countries. The results show the outstanding success and relevance of the IWPA Award from all around the world since the finalist photographers come from across the Middle East, Europe, Asia and South America.

The laureate of the IWPA Award was announced as Constanza Portnoy from Argentina. Constanza’s powerful and deeply moving series titled ‘Force of Life’ portrays the life of people with disabilities. With deep compassion and trust Constanza built a relationship with each of the individuals she portrays in these compelling images.

“I feel excited, honored and very happy. Especially because in Argentina it is very difficult now to raise awareness about this issue, unfortunately the rights of people with disabilities are very vulnerable,” said Constanza.
