Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and flynas sign a memorandum of understanding to enhance services for pilgrims
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and flynas signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), as part of the Ministry’s efforts to establish strategic partnerships with national carriers to increase the number of Umrah pilgrims by opening new destinations and enhancing the services provided to them, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to raise the percentage of Umrah pilgrims annually to reach 30 million Umrah pilgrims from around the world.
The MoU was signed by His Excellency the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Mohammed Saleh bin Taher Benten, and the CEO of flynas, Mr. Bandar bin Abdulrahman Al-Muhanna, and focused on enhancing cooperation between the two parties to increase the number of Umrah pilgrims and provide the best ways to facilitate their arrival procedures in the Kingdom.
His Excellency the Minister of Hajj and Umrah praised this partnership and the role played by national air carriers in strengthening the Kingdom’s leading role in serving the pilgrims, and thanked the CEO of flynas and his keenness to build partnership and cooperation in this field. He added: “This memorandum will allow increasing destinations, direct flights and seat capacity, in order to achieve the directions of the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in increasing the number of Umrah pilgrims and pilgrims from several countries.”
For his part, flynas CEO Bandar Al-Muhanna stressed the work to harness all available capabilities to serve the guests of the Sacred House of God, and to make the best use of flynas’ international alliances to provide the best services to Umrah performers and pilgrims, in a way that enhances the achievement of the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in receiving the largest number of pilgrims and Umrah performers annually.
Al Muhanna said: “The MoU represents an extension of flynas’ successes in serving visitors to the holy cities that we have cherished for years, and this partnership will allow us to expand our services to a wider segment by increasing the number of our new flights and destinations in coordination with a number of relevant authorities.”
It is noteworthy that the MoU will grant flynas an authorized external agent license, where it will establish and develop a specialized electronic platform for marketing Umrah products and issuing electronic visas (eVisa), and work to increase the market share of Umrah guests by marketing products through the “flynas” website, sales offices and agents in various countries of the world, in a way that enhances the company’s strategy in developing its digital marketing base and building local content that serves the target countries and social networks.
