RentSher Middle East Closes Seed Funding Round

Dubai based RentSher Middle East (www.rentsher.ae), the region’s first online platform for rentals of product and services has now closed an over-subscribed seed funding round in excess of $600K. A mix of institutional and angel funding – the round was led by Abu Dhabi VC based Shorooq Investments. Dubai based fund Latitude Consultants Limited and ViaNet Ventures along with prominent angel investors such as Niranjan A M, Khalid AlTawil, Ali Al-Salim, Sabah Yusuf and a Sr. Partner from McKinsey & Company’s Middle East office also joined the round.

Oxford University Alumni and ex-McKinsey consultant Vaibhav Doshi along with his wife Purvashi co-founded RentSher Middle East as a one-stop-shop providing event furniture, audio/video equipment, laptops, medical equipment and travel essentials for rent. RentSher’s custom built platform delivers the convenience of renting anything from tables and chairs for a garden party to bouncy castles for a kid’s birthday or a car-seat for your guests – all online, in a few clicks. The goods are then delivered to your door step and collected back when you want to return. RentSher’s supply network of more than 100 vendors is capable of providing rentals for large events or for enterprises looking to hire ACs, heaters, stage set-up etc. for weddings, conferences and VIP events. Serving both B2C and B2B customers – RentSher has already completed thousands of rentals at key venues such as royal palaces, five star hotels, exhibition centers and event venues across all Emirates.
