Riyadh hosts “GREAT Futures” at KAFD

The King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) Conference Center is gearing up to host the GREAT Futures event, a key business, tourism, and cultural exposition organized by the UK Government’s GREAT Britain and Northern Ireland campaign in partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Government on May 14th and 15th, 2024.

The event, which is part of the initiatives of the Saudi-British Strategic Partnership Council, co-chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Mr. Rishi Sunak, is anticipated to feature the involvement of 800 Government officials, investors and business leaders, in addition to 47 working sessions and workshops in which 127 speakers from the government and private sectors from both sides will participate.

The standard-setting 28,000 sqm venue at Riyadh’s skyline-defining city-within-a-city is all set to dazzle attendees with bespoke activations that bring to life the greatness of both nations – past, present and future – whether it is the Tunnel laced with inspirational quotes of top figures, LED screens that provide a lifelike experience of the natural landscapes present in abundance across the two countries, or the signature banquet hall that will serve as a launchpad for greater possibilities in the ever-strengthening Saudi-British relationship.

Looking forward to the landmark event, Gautam Sashittal, CEO of King Abdullah Financial District Development and Management Company (KAFD DMC) stated: “Holding a spectacle of this magnitude can never be classified as a roadshow held by British stakeholders for their Saudi counterparts to hop on and make millions if not billions. On the contrary, this event is just a kickstarter for a year-long campaign aimed at creating an everlasting collaboration that reimagines key domains while unearthing hidden jewels rooted in both countries’ glorious pasts.”

Commenting on the choice of KAFD as the hosting partner, Sashittal added, “As one of the few places where the Kingdom’s exciting next phase is getting written, it was quite natural for the choice to fall on KAFD and its architectural marvel which is otherwise known as the Conference Center. Event attendees are sure to get a walkthrough across the game-changing transformation at play with the cutting-edge facilities on offer and the fruitful sessions lined up, which will also include familiar faces from KAFD sharing their two cents on hot topics like smart cities, giga projects, luxury, and sustainability.”

The largest cluster of green-certified infrastructure in the world, KAFD is a centrally-located business, residential, and lifestyle district that enables visitors and residents to go about their daily hustle with the least hassle, thanks to its 10-minute city concept that delivers seamless connectivity and streamlined access, all while propelling the Kingdom’s economic journey to the forefront.
