SABIC, a global leader in diversified chemicals, signed three separate cooperation agreements with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH&RC) on the sidelines of the Global Health Exhibition 2023 held in Riyadh from October 29 to 31 under the theme, “Invest in Health.”
Naif Al-Ayed, SABIC Vice President, Local Content & Business Development Unit, and Najlaa Imran Kateb, General Manager, Ibdaa Center, MOH, signed the first agreement. It aims to support localization in the healthcare sector and the transfer of technology by fostering a culture of creativity and innovation and turning challenges into opportunities for local manufacturers.
The agreement also aims to facilitate and accelerate healthcare projects and provide consultation in scientific and technical fields, besides setting up a mini medical-care model center for the elderly at the company’s Home of Innovation™, under its local content initiative, NUSANED™.
Naif Al-Ayed and Dr. Abdullah Aseeri, General Manager, KFSH&RC, signed a separate agreement, which aims to help develop innovative medical products and applications, transfer and localize technologies in medical industries, and provide scientific and technical consultations, as part of the NUSANEDTM initiative.
Under the agreement, SABIC will contribute to the development of prototypes and medical products and help commercialize them in compliance with patents and intellectual property regulations. It will also help transforming innovation and project ideas of KFSH&RC employees into industrial opportunities.
NUSANED™ is an innovative national initiative launched by SABIC in 2018 to support investment in small and medium enterprises and develop local content.
