Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) announces the success of the operational plan of Hajj 1445H, recording unprecedented historical maximum loads
Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) announced the success of the operational plan of Hajj 1445H under the supervision of the Ministry of Energy and the guidance and follow-up of His Royal Highness, the Minister of Energy, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman AlSaud. Jointly, Makkah and the Holy Sites recorded unprecedented historic maximum loads. The maximum load in Mecca was 5,361 MW, while the loads in Mashaar Arafa reached 454 MW and Mina 343 MW, while maintaining the stability and continuity of electrical services in Mecca and all the Holy Sites.
In the same context, Eng. Khalid Bin Hamad AlGnoon, CEO of Saudi Electricity Company, congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz AlSaud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz AlSaud, on the announcement of the success of the Hajj season. Eng. AlGnoon was pleased to note the company’s contribution to the success of the Hajj season by providing reliable and high-quality electrical service in Mecca and the Holy Sites and by managing historic electric loads for the Hajj of 1445H. He stressed that this success would not have been possible without God’s help and grace, as well as the guidance and follow-up of the Minister of Energy, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz Bin Salman, directly from the beginning of the early preparations for the Hajj season, which began immediately after the last Hajj season and extended until the last days of Hajj. As well as guidance and follow-up from the company’s board of directors, the efforts of more than 2,000 experts, engineers, and technicians of the company’s cadres throughout the Hajj season.
The CEO stated that the success of the company’s operational plan has been accomplished after the implementation of several vital projects and financing of investments worth more than 700 Million SAR to develop and strengthen the infrastructure of electricity grids to ensure the provision of stable electric service to the pilgrims in the Holy Sites. Eng. AlGnoon emphasized that success was represented by the stability and continuity of the electrical system around the clock in all locations where pilgrims were located, allowing them to perform their Nusuk with comfort and reassurance, as planned.
The CEO concluded, “We will work in SEC, in coordination with entities within and outside the energy system, under the supervision of the Ministry of Energy, to harness all crews and engineering, technical, and administrative capabilities to begin the early preparation for next year’s Hajj. The success of this season will motivate us. It will be a starting point for accomplishing another success story in serving the pilgrims, enabling them to perform their Nusuk with comfort and assurance”.
