Saudi Motorsport Company Launches ‘Future Truck’ Educational Tour

The Saudi Motorsport Company (SMC) – Promoter of the FORMULA 1 STC SAUDI ARABIAN GRAND PRIX 2024 – has launched an exciting new educational initiative designed to bring the power of motorsport to students across Jeddah, the home of F1 in Saudi Arabia.

The Future Truck roadshow will embark on a journey through Jeddah throughout February until March 4^th. During this period it will visit multiple schools and universities in the city, where it will seek to educate and inspire them to discover more about the many career prospects that exist in motorsport via a stimulating blend of interactive edutainment activities.

The roadshow is expected to reach more than 2000 students across Jeddah over the coming weeks. With a particular focus on STEM subjects – and how these apply to the motorsport arena – the core focus will be on introducing students to the ethics of the sport, competition, team work and safety.

Using a ‘learn-by-play’ approach, the Future Truck will offer students the chance to explore key STEM concepts related to the future of technology, sustainability, innovation and more through the lens of professional motorsport. From interactive displays to hands-on demonstrations, the Future Truck will deliver an immersive learning experience with the aim of leaving a lasting and inspirational impact on all students.

HRH Prince Khalid Bin Sultan Al Abdullah Al-Faisal, Chairman of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation and the Saudi Motorsport Company commented: “At the Saudi Motorsport Company we realise the importance of leveraging the power of motorsport to raise awareness of the opportunities it presents. Building on Saudi Arabia’s position as new the home of motorsport in the region, our goal is to inspire positive action amongst the community, in particular the Saudi youth. By binging major series including F1, FE, the Dakar Rally and Extreme E to the Kingdom, we are opening the minds of our people to careers and opportunities they may previously not have considered. The Future Truck roadshow is a further extension of this ambition to showcase the many doors that motorsport can open for young people and inspire them to seek out new and exciting career paths. The pinnacle of motorsport will be returning to Jeddah on 7^th – 9^th March 2024 when audiences will once more be able to watch the world’s greatest drivers take on the thrilling Jeddah Corniche Circuit – the fastest and longest street circuit in the world – as they go wheel to wheel at average speeds of up to 252km/h.

This year’s eventwill see a change to its previous weekend format, with the Grand Prix taking place on Saturday night in order to avoid a clash with the start of the holy month of Ramadan. As such, Qualifying will take place on Friday night followed by a spectacular live performance by some of the world’s greatest living performers and songwriters including Alicia Keys, Pharrell Williams, and Martin Garrix.

It is increasingly clear that the FORMULA 1 STC SAUDI ARABIAN GRAND PRIX 2024 will be an event that simply cannot be missed!
